Awkward Exits courtesy of Awkward Law Students

The asshole professor finishes his last lecture and then says, "Ok, so thats it...bye." And one by one 4 people started clapping. And I was a little perplexed. Do you clap at the end of the class? It reminded me of when people clap at the end of a movie. Like I have said a million times, the human species is foreign to me. I don't quite understand these things people do. Why clap at the end of a movie? They can't hear you. And why clap at a teacher especially if he sucked. Thank you professor your performance, the one that put me into a catatonic state every week was award winning! *clap* So I stood up and began gathering my shit while people clapped. Then I looked at the professor and he looked confused too so I bowed. I figured my performance of bullshitting my way through a good 7 briefs was more entertaining than him. He laughed. The End.

I love this post! At UT, ppl clap at the end of the last lecture (at both the law and business school) and I've always done so begrudgingly when the professor was subpar. But the bow? Love it. This made me laugh out loud. Best of luck on your finals.

we clap here too. I don't really understand it, and there have only been a couple classes I thought deserved it, but I just go with the crowd.
love the bow.
Good luck!

2 things.

1. we had a professor who brought us doughnuts right before asking us to do his evaluations. everyone gave him rave reviews - as this (singular and only) good deed had caused them to have severe amnesia about the entire semester.

2. i HATE when people clap in movies. especially bad movies. either way, this isn't broadway and they can't hear you - AND clapping after a bad movie just publicly broadcasts your bad taste.

(ps: clearly finals time has me in a real jovial mood, lol).

good luck with civ pro.
